另外，和誹謗有關的單字還有Libel、Slander，以下順便比較一下它們的意思差異。
Defamation includes slander and libel. Libel is the act of defamation of another person through writings, such as newspapers, other publications, articles, blogs, or social media postings.Slander is the act of making a false oral statement about the character or professional standing of another person.
Slander和Libel都包含在Defamation裡面。LIbel是透過寫作的方式來詆毀他人，可能途徑包含報紙等出版媒介、寫文章、部落格，或是社群媒體。Slander則是以口頭上的虛偽陳述，來詆毀他人或質疑其專業度。
至於【匿名】的英文則叫做Anonymous，它也可以用於表示作者不詳，是一個很實用的單字。
