Describe
「describe」是指「描繪」，用來說明人/物的特徵、形象、外觀或某個事件等面向。也能用在難以用言語解釋的情況。它的名詞是「description」。
The police officer asked me to describe the situation.

She described the man she saw in perfect detail.
她非常詳細地描述了她看到的那個男人。
Illustrate
「illustrate」有使用插圖和插畫、範例和圖表、圖形等進行解說的意思。特別適用於以通俗的方式說明抽象、困難的事物。
