This is a natural phenomenon known as bioluminescence.
這種自然現象叫做 “生物發光”。
The light is being emitted by living organisms – in this case, algae.
這種亮光是由有機生物體發出的，這裡看到的是海藻發出的光。

By day, the algae, called phytoplankton, turn the water red, but at night, they emit a blue glow when disturbed.

“I thought it was the most magical thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life, and I’ve been kind of chasing that since then. I remember filming that, and I actually had tears in my eyes and I’ve been trying to get it out here again. It was just like seeing it for the first time. Really incredible and something that, I mean, I might not ever see again.”
