Buli
Yes, I have. But, I don’t really like this version. I think I’ll just play the old one again.

The words ‘edition’ and ‘version’ both refer to different forms of something – in this case, different forms of the same video game. In this example, they’re fairly interchangeable, but there is a difference. Let’s take a look.

‘Version’ can also be used to talk about people, when they’ve made changes to themselves; and stories, when two people have different memories of the same event. Let’s hear more examples.
Examples
After therapy, she became a more confident version of herself.

Robert’s version of the story is very different to Andrew’s. How will we know who’s telling the truth?

Yes. You’ll often see the word inside the cover of books to indicate how many times it has been published in a new form, for example ‘7th edition’. Let’s hear other examples.
Examples
The first edition of this book is worth a lot of money because it’s so rare.

I love this edition of the album because it has a few extra live recordings of some of the songs.
