2.get to the point
這是由我們熟悉的單字排列而成,所以可以很容易推測意思。
直譯的意思是「得到要領 / 理解」。
Situation: Nao and Hiro, her partner, are talking about camping.
場景:娜歐跟她的夥伴希羅正在討論露營。
Hiro: I’ve been so busy recently. I’m knackered. I do want to feel natural and get fresh air.

3.long story short
‘to make long story short’的簡短表現。
直譯的意思是「長話短說」,也是我們熟悉的「簡而言之」的意思。
Situation: Brian is asking his parents, Flick and Belle, about a toy advertisement.
場景:布萊恩一邊看著玩具的廣告,一邊問父親弗利克和母親貝爾。
Brian: Daddy, why is Pokemon everywhere?
(爸爸,為什麼到處都是寶可夢呢?
Flick: Well, it’s a good question, my buddy. That’s one of the very good marketing strategies. Many companies tie it into the Pokemon characters and they can sell many products like toys…

「坦白說…」可以用’frankly speaking’或’to be frank with you’來表達。
在傳達負面的情報時也可以作為緩衝詞使用。

「說實話」也可以用、‘straight up with you’、‘to be honest’ 或 ‘to tell the truth’來表達。這裡的表現也可以用於傳遞負面感情和情報。
