This is one of Earth’s most feared predators: the saltwater crocodile. The world’s largest population of this species in the wild is here, in Australia’s Northern Territory.

這是地球上最可怕的食肉動物之一——灣鱷。這種生物最大的野外種群就生活在此處，在澳大利亞的北領地地區。

Although croc attacks are rare, one proved fatal last year.

雖然鱷魚襲擊事件非常罕見，但去年還是發生瞭一起致命的襲擊。

They’re part of a new 10-year plan to manage the more than 100,000 crocodiles in Northern Territory.

For a species once nearly hunted to extinction, it’s a huge turnaround.

But every time crocodiles kill someone, it reignites a debate about how crocs can live alongside people.

The reptiles bring money into the area.

Crocodile farms were introduced to stop illegal poaching, and famous fashion labels have bought stakes in them.

Crocodiles also attract tourists, bringing benefits to Aboriginal communities living close by.
