請問 “go up/go down/go along the road” 有什麼區別？“Go along” 是 “順著” 這條路走，那 “go up” 和 “go down” 是指 “朝北或朝南方向走” 還是 “上下坡”？據說 “go down” 和 “go along” 可以互換使用，是這樣的嗎？

“Go up、go down” 和 “go along” 常常可以互換使用，意思都是 “沿路行走”。註意，這裡的 “go” 可以用 “walk、run、drive” 等動詞替換，當然意思也會相應地發生改變。By the way, how did you get to work today, Georgie?
Georgie
I walked! I walked along some streets and then through a park. It’s a nice walk.

That does sound nice! 唉？你剛剛說你 “walked along some streets”。為什麼你在動詞 “walked” 後面選擇瞭 “along” 這個介詞呢？
Georgie
I chose to say ‘along’ because I was talking about a long walk which involved many streets, whereas ‘up’ and ‘down’ are more commonly used to talk about one particular street.

由於你上班的路途較長，走過瞭很多條街道，所以在動詞 “walked” 的後面使用瞭介詞 “along”，表示 “沿著…，順著…”。而介詞 “up” 和 “down” 更常用來表示 “沿某一條特定的路走”。來聽兩個分別使用瞭 “up” 和 “down” 的例句。
Examples
We walked up the prettiest street when we were on holiday in Venice.
（在威尼斯度假時，我們走過瞭一條特別美麗的街道。）
To go to work, I just have to walk down this one road.

That’s right. For this reason, we might use ‘up’ and ‘down’ more often when we’re giving directions. You would not be wrong if you used ‘along’ to give directions. The meaning is still very similar, it’s just less common.

沒錯，當我們為他人指路的時候，要表達清楚 “沿著特定的街道走”，所以更多地用 “up” 和 “down”，而更少地用 “along”。聽兩個例句，例句中的說話人正在為他人指路，分別使用瞭介詞 “up” 和 “down”。
Examples
Turn left when you leave the house, then go up the street and you’ll find the supermarket.
（出門左轉，然後沿著這條街往前走，你就會看到超市瞭。）
If you want a shortcut, drive down the road without any traffic lights.
（如果你想抄近路，沿著沒有紅綠燈的那條路開下去。）

Examples
You’re trying to find the museum? Continue going straight down this street.

If you’re looking for the art gallery, turn around and go back up this street, then turn left.
