This is an interesting question because ‘review’ and ‘revision’ have different meanings depending on the context. But let’s start with using ‘review’ to talk about studying, perhaps in preparation for exams, like the question suggested.

沒錯，“review” 和 “revision” 都有 “復習” 的意思。其中，“review” 既可以作名詞也可以作動詞；而 “revision” 是一個名詞，它的動詞形式是 “revise”。在英國，人們更常用 “revision” 來表示 “為考試做準備，復習”。比如，我們可以用 “do revision” 或 “revise” 來表達 “通過復習筆記等來重溫所學的知識”。

Yes. In the UK, we wouldn’t normally use ‘review’ in this way, but it might be more common in the US. We use ‘review’ more in other contexts, which we’ll talk about later. Let’s hear some examples with ‘revision’.
Examples
Sorry, I can’t go to the cinema. I’ve got to do loads of revision before Monday.
（對不起，我不能去看電影。下周一前我有好多功課要復習。）
She managed to pass the exam without doing any revision.
（她在沒有做任何復習的情況下通過瞭考試。）

But ‘revise’ can also be followed be a noun or noun phrase if you’re talking about something specific. For example, “I need to revise maths”. Let’s hear how people can use ‘revise’.
Examples
We should keep the noise down – Molly’s revising upstairs.
（我們應該小聲點。茉莉在樓上溫習功課呢。）
I just need to revise the geometry unit and then I’ll be ready for the maths exam.
（我隻需要再復習一下幾何單元，然後我就差不多準備好參加數學考試瞭。）

Exactly. Whereas a revision of a document implies changes or improvements to the document. Notice that this is different to the context of studying we previously discussed. Revising for an exam has nothing to do with changing something.

We’ll do a review of the finances and then revise the budget accordingly.

As in the examples, you’re more likely to hear the verb form ‘revise’ or modifier ‘revised’ than the noun form ‘revision’.
