您好。這次我的問題在於如何表達 “一部分” 這個意義。我有點弄不清應該是 “part of” 還是 “a part of”。比如在新學期班裡有新同學轉來時的這個情景下，想表達 “感謝你成為我們班級的一份子” 應該是 “Thank you for being part of our class.” 還是 “Thank you for being a part of our class.”？考慮到不定冠詞 “a” 僅用於可數名詞，沿著這個思路，我查閱詞典，發現 “part” 這個詞作為名詞表示 “部分” 時不可數和可數的用法都是存在的。

簡而言之，我的問題是：表達 “一部分” 的意義時，何時用 “part of”，何時用 “a part of”？謝謝！

Good idea! OK, so the simple answer is that if there isn’t an adjective, we can use either ‘a part of’ or ‘part of’ – both are possible. Listen to the examples.

Well, here, if we are talking about a single thing, we need to use the article. If something is an important part of something or an interesting part of something or a worrying part of something, then we need to use the indefinite article. Listen to these examples.

This is an interesting part of the story.
