「很冷」怎麼說？各種表達冷的英文說法

終於進入了嚴寒季節。中文有很多用來形容寒冷的說法，如「有點涼」「凍僵了」「冷到骨子裡」等。

想用英文表示「冷」時，第一個總會想到 cold 。但除了cold之外用來形容寒冷的英文單字和片語還有非常多。今天我們要介紹的就是天冷時，在英語會話及文字訊息表達時常用的英語。

很冷的基本單字cold的用法

一提到冷就會想到cold對吧？

cold可以用來表達各種程度的冷，也是英語母語者們最常使用的單字。副詞＋cold就可以用來表達不同程度的冷，是非常好用的單字。

It’s cold today.
今天很冷。
It’s a little cold today.
今天稍微有點冷。
It’s a bit cold today.
今天稍微有點冷。
It’s very cold today.

今天非常冷。
It’s so cold today.
今天非常冷。
It’s quite cold today.
今天蠻冷的。
It’s pretty cold today.

＊super是口語用法，意思如同中文的「超」

今天天氣酷冷。

今天極度寒冷。

這裡越來越冷。

外面越來越冷。

It suddenly became cold.
突然變得很冷。

除了用來表示天氣以外，cold也可以描述自己對於冷的感受，如 I’m cold.或I feel cold.（我好冷。）

I’m cold. I should have worn a warmer jacket.
我好冷，我應該穿件更暖的外套。
Do you mind if I turn up the heat? I feel cold.
我可以調高暖氣溫度嗎？我覺得冷。
英語並沒有「（體質）怕冷」這樣的說法，但可以用「總是覺得冷」來表達「怕冷」、「容易感到冷」。

我總是覺得冷。

I constantly feel cold.
我一直覺得很冷。

cool「涼爽的」

Cool 常用來表示季節交替時，讓人感到舒適涼爽的天氣。

外頭天氣涼爽。

It was a cool fall day.
一個涼爽的秋日。
I enjoy walking in the cool morning air.
我喜歡散步在涼爽的早晨時光。

chilly「有涼意」「微寒」

chilly比cool再冷一點，當你穿上夾克還覺得有點冷時就可以用chilly。

順帶一提，把啤酒等放進冰箱冰涼的英文是chill。

It’s chilly today.
今天有點涼。
This room is chilly.
這個房間有點冷。

It might get chilly tonight.
今天晚上可能會轉涼。

freezing「非常冷」「要結冰似的冷」

freezing用於表示好像要結冰似的冷。freeze＝結冰、freezer＝冷凍庫、frozen＝冰凍的，跟這幾個單字一起記會比較容易理解喔！

It’s freezing outside.
外面冷得要結冰了。＝外面冷得要命！
I’m freezing.
我快冷死了。
This room is freezing!

這個房間冷到快結冰了。＝這個房間太冷了吧！

Cool、chill、freezing和cold一樣都是日常生活中會經常用到的單字。

如果比較它們寒冷程度的話，順序是這樣 cool < chill < freezing。

昨天晚上冷到結冰似的。＝昨晚非常冷。

Jack Frost
冰霜傑克；嚴寒的擬人化說法

Jack Frost指的是霜的人型妖怪。人們會說「Jack Frost is here!」「Jack Frost has arrived.」表達嚴冬已至。

大家最熟悉的聖誕歌曲 The Christmas Song （Merry Christmas to You）的歌詞裡也唱道　“Jack Frost nipping at your nose.”　雖然直接翻譯的意思是「冰霜傑克咬著你的鼻子」，但實際的意思就是「冷到鼻子痛」。當我們輕鬆的聽著歌曲的同時，如果能夠理解歌詞的意思樂趣就會加倍。

跟中文說法很像？！形容寒冷的英文說法

中文經常用來形容寒冷的說法中，有一些在英文也有類似的說法，真的很有趣。

我的手凍僵了。
I can’t feel my fingers.

我的手指凍到沒有知覺了。
I can see my breath.
我能看到我呼出來的氣。＝我可以呼出白霧。

如何用英文說「氣溫」？

攝氏°C（Celsius）與華氏°F（Fahrenheit）

「温度」的英文是　temperature，用來表示氣溫、體溫、食物的溫度等所有東西的溫度。「度」是degrees。

溫度的單位使用上有點複雜，台灣用的是攝氏　°C（Celsius），美國等一些國家則用華氏　°F（Fahrenheit）。請注意攝氏溫度和華氏溫度完全不相同。

0℃ ＝ 32°F、20℃ ＝ 68°F、30℃ ＝ 86°F、40℃ ＝ 104°F

【換算公式：攝氏°C =（華氏℉　－32）÷1.8】

It’s 20 degrees Celsius outside.
室外氣溫是攝氏20度。
It’s 20 degrees Fahrenheit outside.

室外氣溫是華氏20度。

在會話中通常會省略掉Celsius和 Fahrenheit 直接說 It’s 20 degrees outside.

The temperature dropped to 10 degrees today.
今天的氣溫降至10度。

零度以下、負○度的英語說法

「負10度」可以說　negative 10 degrees、minus 10 degrees、10 degrees below zero。

below zero 與 below freezing都用來表示「零度以下」。

It was below zero last night.
昨天晚上氣溫降到零度以下。
It’s supposed to get below freezing tomorrow.
明天的氣溫預計會降到零度以下。
The temperature was negative 2 degrees Fahrenheit last night.

昨晚氣溫為華氏負 2 度。
It was minus 20 degrees Celsius yesterday.
昨天的氣溫為攝氏負20度。
The temperature outside was 10 degrees below zero!
室外溫度是負10度！

《重點提示》0 度是 zero degrees，使用複數形；1度是 one degree，使用單數形。

It was zero degrees Celsius this morning.
今天早上的氣溫是零度。
The room was one degree warmer than outside.
室內溫度比室外高一度。
