這裡的「word」表示「承諾」，因此「A man/woman of one’s word」就是「一個遵守自己承諾的人」，換言之就是「言出必行的人」。
主詞是男性的話請用「man」，女性用「woman」，如果不明示性別，則可以使用「person」。

「A man/woman of one’s word」這句話在日常會話中的使用頻率很高，電影戲劇的台詞裡面也常常出現。
舉例來說，2008年的賣座蝙蝠俠系列電影『黑暗騎士』（英文片名： The Dark Knight）當中，反派小丑就有一句台詞是「Starting tonight. I’m a man of my word. 」。
再舉一個例子，1994年的電影『阿甘正傳』（英文片名：Forrest Gump）裡面出現過以下場景。當丹中尉遵守承諾來找阿甘，說要加入他的捕蝦事業的時候，他說了這句話「I’m a man of my word. 」。
另外，歌手團體Lil Baby和Lil Durk在2021年共同製作的專輯『The Voice Of The Heroes』當中，有一首歌就叫做「Man of my Word」。

「walk the walk」表示「說到做到」、「以行動證明」的意思。所以也是「言出必行」的類似用法。

另外，和「walk the walk」常常會一起出現的對照用法是「talk the talk」。相對於前者表示「言出必行」，「talk the talk」的意思則是「光會說好聽話」，剛好相反。

不要只會光說不練。
如果把「walk the walk」和「talk the talk」分開來看的話，只有「walk the walk」表示「言出必行」。不過有趣的是，如果把兩句合在一起變成「talk the talk and walk the walk」，就變成「言出必行」、「說話算話」、「不只會說，還真的能做到」的正面意義。
有時候，還可以看到變化版本的「talk the walk and walk the talk」，也都表示「言出必行」。

另外，其實也有「talk and talk」這種說法。不過意思完全不一樣，它是「說個不停」、「愛講話」的意思。

「put your money where your mouth is」這句話可能照字面來看，不是很好理解什麼叫「把錢放在嘴巴上」。其實，它是個慣用句，同樣表示「不要光說不練，要說到做到」的意思。

什麼？你說你快要出人頭地了？我聽這句話已經聽三十年，不要再只會出一張嘴了！

keep one’s word
前面已經學過「A man/woman of one’s word」，我們知道「word」可以表示「承諾」。所以「keep one’s word」就是「遵守諾言」、「說到做到」的意思。同樣屬於「言出必行」的概念。
