You said ‘yikes’ – that normally means you’re shocked or worried about something. Is it my hair?
Neil
Well, ‘yikes!’ is also something we say when we’re surprised, and I was just surprised by your new hairstyle – but in a good way!
Jiaying
Hmm, if you say so. 人們通常用 “yikes” 來表示驚訝、震驚或者擔憂，就好比我們漢語裡的 “哎呀”，是一個非正式的表達方式。So, Neil, what has ‘surprised’ you about my hair then?
Neil
Err… Shall we hear some more examples first?

Big yikes! “Big yikes” 是 “yikes” 的一個更誇張的說法，有點像我們漢語裡說的 “哎呀媽呀”。不過，Neil，隻要新發型好看，多少錢都值，是不是？
Neil
If you say so. Wasn’t there a cheaper colour?
Jiaying
