He put in too much salt, sugar, soy sauce, and stuff. It was disgusting.
他不管是鹽、糖、醬油還是其他調味料都加太多了,吃起來超噁的。 I mistakenly put in sugar instead of salt. It was too sweet and gross.
我要加鹽不小心加成糖了,味道變得很甜很噁心。
狀況「很糟」
bad / terrible
「bad」和「terrible」除了表示味道上的「難吃」,也可以形容情況「很糟」。
(例)
This situation is really bad, isn’t it?
這個情況真的很糟,對吧? I lost my wallet. All of my credit cards and IDs are in it. This is a terrible situation.
我的錢包不見了,裡面有我全部的信用卡和證件,真是太慘了。
in trouble
「in trouble」一般解釋作「陷入麻煩」,因此也是「糟糕」的意思。
如果是描述在很糟的狀態裡,可以說「be in trouble」。如果要表示動態概念的惹上麻煩,可以用「get into trouble」來表達。
(例)
You should ask somebody for help when you are in trouble.
當你遇到麻煩的時候,應該要向別人求助。 I heard you got into trouble last night. Was that alright?
聽說你昨天遇上了一些麻煩,還好嗎?
big problem
從字面上來看,「big problem」就是「大問題」的意思,因此也可以用來表示棘手狀況。
(例)
Oh my god, this is going to be a big problem.
天啊!這會是一個大問題。 We’re having a big problem. We need to solve this as soon as possible.
我們遇到了一個大問題,必須盡快解決才行。
This is terrible. I totally messed up the whole thing. What should I do?
真糟糕,整件事被我完全搞砸了,現在該怎麼善後呢? I mistakenly deleted all the important data. I screwed up.
我不小心把重要資料全部刪除了,完蛋了。
Oh my god (gosh) / Oh no / What the hell
當遇到很糟的情況時,可能會忍不住驚呼「慘了!」,換成英文就可以用以下感嘆句來表示:「Oh my god (gosh)」、「Oh no」、「What the hell」等等。
(例)
Oh my gosh, I spilled the coffee all over my MacBook Air.
我的天啊!我把咖啡整個撒在我的MacBook Air電腦上了。 Oh no, I dropped my camera in the river. It’s not waterproof.
糟糕!我的相機掉到河裡去了!它沒有防水啊! My iPhone is not working. What the hell…
我的iPhone當機了。搞什麼鬼…
被別人聽到就「糟了」
not want 人 to hear 〜
日常生活中,有些話總是不希望傳到某些人耳裡,也就是「不想被某人聽到」的意思。這時候可以借用句型「want 某人 to 動詞」,原本意思是「希望某人〜」,把它換成否定形,同時把動詞部分用「hear(聽)」來帶入,就可以表示「不希望某人聽到」的意思了。
(例)
Keep it down. I don’t want him to hear our conversation.
小聲一點。我可不希望他聽到我們在說什麼。
We should move to the meeting room. I don’t want anybody to hear this.
我們應該到會議室去講,我不想被別人聽到這件事。
〜 is going to be mad / upset if 〜 hears 〜
如果想要表示「被聽到就慘了」,可以換一種間接說法「如果他聽到這件事,一定會很生氣 / 不開心」。
(例)
My boss is going to be upset if he hears that I will quit this company.
老闆要是聽到我要離職,一定會很不開心。
→要是被老闆聽到我要離職就完蛋了。 My mom is going to be so mad if she hears what I said.
媽媽要是聽到我這樣說,一定會氣瘋了。
→要是我說的話被媽媽聽到就慘了。
