This is a great question – we often talk about hard skills and soft skills when we talk about what people need to apply for and do different jobs. So, let’s look at what they are, starting with hard skills.

“Hard skills” 在中文裡可以被稱為 “硬技能”，意思就是 “通常由培訓或學習得到的，可以明確定義或量化的技能”。通常人們在談論硬技能時，指的是 “能通過證書、學歷或學位等等證明的能力或技能”。

To learn new hard skills, you might take a course or training. You might also take an exam to get a recognised qualification. Listen to these examples of people talking about hard skills and related qualifications.

Examples
For this job, we need someone who can code in Python.

So, that’s hard skills. Now let’s talk about soft skills. These are a lot harder to define and are often related to your personal attributes or how you relate to other people.

While it is possible to develop these skills and to attend courses, they are much harder to measure objectively than hard skills. However, this doesn’t mean that they are not important.
