She signed the contract on behalf of her boss who was out of town.
（因為老闆人在外縣市，所以她以代理人的身份簽署合約。）

In lieu (of)
「in lieu (of)」表示用別的東西來取代、替換掉原本的東西。它屬於很正式的片語用法，通常出現在公司的官方發表或是正式的書面資料當中。「of」的後面請接名詞。
